This works with the K20a3, K24a1, K24a4 and K24a8 engines with the non I rundown the different options for rockers with a Vtec Killer cam setup on my K24a1. This works with the K20a3, K24a1
The power output of a VTEC engine is quite impressive. With a maximum boost pressure of 20.5 psi, the 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine delivers a whopping 272 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a substantial 280 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. How Much Power Does a VTEC Have?
The Honda Element features an i-VTEC four-cylinder engine. How does the Honda R18A SOHC i-VTEC work? With the R18A SOHC i-VTEC mechanism, Honda’s R&D engineers introduced the idea of controlling the amount of air entering the combustion chamber via other means instead of the throttle butterfly. This is done via a combination of both valve
Re: Will a VTEC run ok in a non VTEC car? yes, it will run just fine. though if you want vtec to work you will need to wire it up either straight to the ecu through the firewall (plug underneath the battery box, almost directly at the ecu) or through the shock towers to make it look OEM. How much horsepower does a 2.3 VTEC have? Horsepower.
Install the exhaust manifold and tighten the nuts in a criss-cross pattern in 2 or 3 steps, beginning with the inner nut. 3. Install the exhaust manifold bracket. 4. Install two dowel pins, head gasket, and cylinder head. -Apply clean engine oil on the bolt threads and washer contact surface.

Location. USA. Dec 12, 2015. #1. My 2004 Civic D17A1 engine blew up. I found a D17A2 with 75K miles, very well taken care of with new belts and water pump for $600. My understanding is that I can put a VTEC engine in a non VTEC car without a VTEC computer or wiring harness and the only difference is that VTEC will not work.
Manufacturers usually guess how the engine will be used, and will then tune the valve timing to that speed. For instance, a sedan would probably run the most efficiently at medium engine speeds, while a sports car might run more efficiently at a higher RPM. VVT allows the best of both worlds by adjusting the cam to match the engine revolutions.
