One of the best ways of getting cool interesting stated components is from the lowly turtles and deer of the wild. As you start these creatures wont drop to much of interest but always kill and look for loot form them. These animals drop crit chance and % health components wich at any level help almost every class which uses those two stats.
Elemental Rage is overrated, and takes up a lot of mana. Mana isn't really an issue, shadowcasters get mana for critting. Blade honing works for chakrams too, as chakrams also have edged blades on them. Use shadowflare before you hit with dagger (unless you're going for a stealth kill.) Awesome.

I think universalist builds are quite good in the early game. Wayfarer (5/5/5) gives +10% to melee/ranged/magic, -25% to equip requirements, and +1 to all skills. That's a really appealing list of bonuses, if you compare it to the other destinies on the same tier.
